Stopping Illegal Robocalls Where They Start

FCC Solicits More Comments on Robocalling — Here’s a Summary

Wow, it’s been a long time for me away from the blog. Busy with so many other efforts related to the illegal robocall scourge.

But I wanted to re-start, and what better way than a quick note about activity at the FCC.

They have been ramping up their own anti-robocall efforts, including the issuance in late July of both an ORDER and a 4th Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking. With the rulemaking, they solicit comments from the public (primarily the industry), and they got quite a few (due August 31) — hundreds of pages in total.

It’s grueling to read through all that. In most big companies, somebody would be assigned to plow through and summarize for their colleagues. TransNexus was kind enough to share their summary with the rest of us. I certainly thank them for that — hours saved!

Of course, ZipDX submitted comments and I’ll have more to say about that soon.
